In the new paradigm of international relations, soft power acts as a decisive component in shaping norms and garnering consensus on the global stage. The People's Republic of China, recognizing this strategic shift, seeks to enhance its symbolic capital in the form of soft power through the design and implementation of a coherent set of strategies. This initiative, as an instrument of economic statecraft, aids in the reproduction of China's nascent hegemony by fostering interdependence and promoting a narrative of shared development. In the cultural dimension, this research analyzes China's assertive cultural diplomacy, which leverages two main axes: a modern reinterpretation of its ancient civilizational heritage and the export of its new cultural industries. In this context, the extensive network of Confucius Institutes serves as software-like institutions for China's international legitimation. Utilizing an analytical-descriptive methodology, this article ultimately addresses the key question of how China's dominant discourse integrates economy and culture within a hegemonic framework to present a narrative of its peaceful rise to the world. The main research question is: How have the instruments of China's soft power contributed to enhancing the country's influence and stature in the geopolitical dynamics of the Middle East? The research hypothesis is grounded in the idea that China, by leveraging economic tools (such as massive investments in infrastructure projects) and cultural tools (such as the expansion of Confucius Institutes and media diplomacy), strengthened its presence in the Middle East.
