Given the importance of public diplomacy in international relations and politics, governments seek to use these tools as much as possible to advance their own interests, focusing and investing in areas such as soft power and smart power. Due to the importance of the subject, the authors of this article try to examine the cultural and religious aspects of public diplomacy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Central Asia. Iran's priority and emphasis in public diplomacy, especially in Central Asia, is to rely on the historical background among the people and countries of the region and the many cultural, historical and religious commonalities. Commons such as Islam, Nowruz, border and geographical location are relative to them. In this regard, this article seeks to answer the question, what are the most important cultural and religious aspects of Iranian public diplomacy in Central Asia? Accordingly, the hypothesis of this article states that Iran emphasizes more on the common cultural, civilizational and religious background with Central Asia in order to advance its public diplomacy in this region. The research method is based on descriptive-analytical research strategy.
